The World’s leading billiard ball and cloth manufacturers will be the official and exclusive suppliers across all the disciplines promoted by the Korean Billiards Federation (KBF) for the next 3 years.
It is the ambition of every national sports organization across the globe to elevate the playing experience for both amateur and professional players. This has a direct impact on their competitiveness and also helps attract more people to the various disciplines of billiards.
The KBF is the national governing body for cue sports in South Korea. Beyond promoting and developing all major billiard disciplines, it also organizes regular amateur and pro tournaments in more than 1,000 registered clubs all over the country.
The federation is now investing significantly to improve the quality of its tournament venues as well as its broadcast exposure in order to meet the standards of the most prestigious international events.
To support this ambitious vision for the sport, Aramith Balls, Simonis Cloth and Strachan Cloth have been selected as the unified official and exclusive equipment for all KBF-sanctioned competitions. These include Carom, Snooker and Pocket billiards events.
The first official event under this new partnership will take place from March 11 to 15 in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon Province, Korea. It will host approximately 1,900 participants and will feature both carom and pool disciplines.
Bob Lee (Korea Billiards Federation Executive Director): “We are very pleased and grateful to establish this partnership with the Simonis Group. This agreement goes beyond a simple equipment sponsorship and represents the beginning of a new form of partnership. Together with the Simonis Group, we look forward to enhancing the value of K-Billiards and developing various collaborative models that will enable us to grow together.”
Jérôme Poncelet (Iwan Simonis Group Sales Director): “As the reference billiard cloth and ball manufacturers, it is part of our mission to support the development of the sport around the world. The KBF is doing an outstanding job through their various divisions to increase the visibility of billiards nationwide. Their ambition and passion for the sport, as well as the amounts they are now investing to reach the highest standards, made it obvious for our whole Group to resume this historical partnership we had for years.”
